Deity is a startup founded by two passionate and innovation-driven tech entrepreneurs. Together, they have over 25 years of experience in building businesses at the intersection of internet, commerce, software, and logistics technology. Their background includes successfully developing, optimizing, and executing EMEA growth strategies for some of the world’s most recognizable brands, including Hewlett Packard, Ferrari, Tele2, and De Bijenkorf.
When our founders Jamie Maria Schouren and Roland Bastiaansen met in 2017, they quickly realized they don’t only have complementary characters and humor, but also complementary ecommerce skills.

Roland has founded several companies excelling in solving backend issues for the biggest online retailers, from the moment online shopping started to take flight. Together, they rely on over 35 years of ecommerce experience and share the belief that the future of ecommerce is composable. From this belief, the drive to help online merchants take the next step in growth without compromises, and the ambition to change the future of ecommerce, Deity was born.
